WHYL Staff Meteorologist JOHN WETHERBEE
"Yes, WETHERBEE is my real last name," says "Big" John Wetherbee. And the BIG means tall. "I'm six-foot-nine, which is usually bigger than most folks. So I'm stuck with it."
Big John is familiar to audiences all over the country for years as a radio personality, program director and general manager. And he is a sealed and certified radio and TV meteorologist, working as Chief Meteorologist for the CBS station in Atlanta, and stations in Nashville, Chattanooga, and Savannah, and radio in Ohio, Pittsburgh, Wilkes-Barre and Syracuse.
But his greatest love is home and music. "There are always so many great things going on. I enjoy the awesome sense of community and the great neighborhoods, another one over the next hill, and, of course, football.
"And it's always another great day!"
John and his wife are proud parents of three daughters and two sons-in-law, all working toward graduate degrees. And there's a dog, two cats and three fish.
