AM 960 and Giant Foods teamed up with Rick Smith, host of WHYL's The Rick Smith Show, to feed the working poor in the area, through "Hungry and Homeless for the Holidays". Project S.H.A.R.E. was the benefactor of this week-long promotion, which took place November 3 through November 11.Rick Smith spent eight days living in a cardboard box in an attempt to raise food donations and bring attention to the issues facing the poor in the area. All food products raised during this week-long event will stayed local. Official numbers are not in yet but an estimated $1,500 was raised as well as 100 turkeys, several blankets/clothing and over 10,000 lbs. of food.

The Rick Smith Show airs every Sundays from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm on WHYL! Here are some pictures from the event!

Rick's buddy Jake put in a lot of time for the event as well and even spent a few nights in the cardboard box next to Rick's. Jake is one of the hosts on "The Rick Smith Show"
